About the Convention & Visitors Bureau
Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) refers to a non-profit corporation organized under Montana law and recognized by a majority of the governing body in the city, consolidated city-county, resort area, or resort area district in which the bureau is located.
The State of Montana is structured into six Tourism Regions and 18 CVB's. The Tourism Regions include Central Montana, Glacier Country, Missouri River Country, Southeast Montana, Southwest Montana, and Yellowstone Country.
The Livingston CVB – Explore Livingston, is a division of the Livingston Business Improvement District and is part of the Yellowstone Country Tourism Region. It is funded through a percentage of Lodging Facility Use Tax to support the promotion of Montana's tourism and recreation industry. Explore Livingston is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors and the Montana Tourism Advisory Council who approves the allocation of the bed tax funds.
The annual Explore Livingston marketing plan serves to direct the initiatives and spending for the Livingston CVB and inform and educate the board of directors, community stakeholders, Tourism Advisory Council, and the City of Livingston.
About the Livingston Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID)
The mission of the Livingston TBID is “to enhance the economic vitality of Livingston by generating room nights for the city’s lodging facilities through effective sales and marketing strategies, building collaborative partnerships and promoting Livingston as a year-round visitor, convention, and event destination."
The Livingston TBID is funded by a flat fee of $2 per room night on individuals staying at lodging facilities within the Livingston city limits. In addition to planned marketing, grant funding is also available for events and programs that promote visitation and tourism within Livingston as specified by the Livingston TBID Board of Directors.
The Livingston TBID currently meets via Zoom the second Wednesday of each month at 11:00 am (except July and December.) If you would like to participate or give public comment, please email us at least two weeks prior to the meeting. We will be in touch to confirm with you.
